Our LUKIES values are central to St Luke’s.
We are a family. We are a supportive school community that supports each other to develop in the likeness of God.
We worked with our school community to develop our LUKIES values and they have become so important to everything that we do. If you have ever left St Luke’s, you will remember the saying by many of our wonderful teachers who have worked at the school for many years ‘once a Lukie, always a Lukie’. A lasting message as you leave school, to never lose your values that primary school has taught you. It was with this, that we developed our LUKIES values. Values that our children can grow and develop and become part of their identities so when they leave St Luke’s at the end of their primary school journey, they will always have their LUKIES values in life that will shape who they become.
As children of God and as inspired by our Catholic faith, we aim for our children to be:
Loving – We foster a love of God and show love to each other just as we were taught by Jesus.
Unique – We know that we are all different and unique and that we all have our our God-given talents. Together, we celebrate our diversity and show respect for one another.
Kind – We are kind to everyone around us and try to put others before ourselves. We think about our close neighbours and our neighbours around the world and show kindness to them through different acts of service.
Inclusive – We include everyone. We celebrate our differences and never leave anyone out.
Empathetic – We understand other peoples feelings and show support to them.
Striving – We always strive to be the best that we can be and be the best that we can do as a modern day disciple of Jesus.
